BUNGAN BEACH
Bungan
Beach and the surrounding properties are one of Sydney's best
kept secrets. Isolated by a steep hillside, Bungan Beach is
hidden from the main road and accessible only by a walking
track. There are no public parking facilities, only adding
to its seclusion and making it far less crowded than other
beaches. The homes situated high above the beach,
dotted along the escarpment that hugs the coastline, offer
some of the regions most spectacular ocean views. There are
few original cottages left as most have made way for magnificent
homes architecturally designed to take advantage of the Pacific
Ocean vista. Properties positioned on the southern side of
Bungan Head Road enjoy sensational views down to Bungan Beach,
those on the east look out over the Pacific Ocean to the horizon.
Those located high on Bushrangers Hill are uniquely positioned
to take in ocean as well as Pittwater views to the west where
spectacular sunsets occur almost daily. Many are lucky enough
to enjoy all day sunshine.
Bungan Beach is conveniently located
close to both Newport and Mona Vale shopping centre, as well
as the popular Newport Arms Hotel with its relaxing beer garden
right on the Pittwater foreshores.
NEWPORT
VILLAGE & BEACH
Newport is a popular seaside
suburb situated between the ocean and Pittwater. The shopping
village, which runs either side of the main arterial road,
is a constant hive of activity and features a mix of cafes,
restaurants and specialty shops. Direct access to Newport
Beach is conveniently located at the northern end of the shopping
centre. Adjacent to the beach is a large grassy area with
a children's playground, picnic area and BBQ facilities. Norfolk
Pines line the beach providing welcome shade in the summer.
A 50 metre rock pool is at the southern end. There is also
a reef where divers and snorkellers can enjoy a vast diversity
of marine life. The Newport Arms Hotel on the Pittwater waterfront
is a popular place to enjoy a long lunch or leisurely afternoon
in the beer garden watching the sun set. The Royal Motor and
Prince Alfred Yacht clubs are close by.
