Whale
Beach has long been synonymous as a playground for the rich
and famous. This pristine stretch of beach is protected by
a headland at both ends giving it a feeling of isolation and
protection. Magnificent homes are built along the cliffs and
escarpments surrounding the beach, catching the beautiful
Pacific Ocean views that stretch all the way to the horizon.
For most
of the year Whale Beach remains somewhat deserted as many
of the properties are holiday homes to Sydneys elite.
But at Christmas and school holidays it comes alive as they
take possession and relish in the peace and serenity the area
offers. For people wanting to share in a peace of the Whale
Beach lifestyle but cant afford the multi-million dollar
price tag of the beachfront mansions, there are still some
homes just a few minutes walk from the beach that can be very
affordable, or can be rented out of peak holiday time at reasonable
rates.
Whale
Beach is also popular with those who enjoy fine dining in
one of the areas restaurants that can boast not only five
star cuisine but five star views! For those on a tighter budget
a burger and ice cream can be purchased from the beach kiosk.
To get to Whale Beach, follow Barrenjoey
Road past Avalon, and turn into Whale Beach Road at the Careel
Bay shopping village. It is approximately 40km from the city
and is services by RTA buses daily.
